Love this episode! This film and Young Frankenstein are two of my favorite comedies of all time, and I was delighted to hear that you enjoyed it.
A point that I haven’t heard you really address in detail, although I haven’t listened to all of your eps (skipping the ones about material I haven’t seen yet), so maybe you have talked about it already. What’s the deal about younger people disliking “older” films/Black and white movies? Now, I grew up in the ‘70s in pre-cable and -VCR years, and I just had network, pbs, and a few UHF channels, so I watched what entertainment I could. However, if you reject movies not in color or before Star Wars, you are missing sooooo much good stuff! Summarily discounting films because of that criteria just doesn’t make sense to me, but it’s something I hear from people time and again.
Maybe it’s a topic you can talk about on a future episode. Just an idea!
