Wow that was very good! I watched it at 22 when I was watching “classic” movies for the first time after pop culturally deprived childhood, and I think this image I had of it in my head as youthful innocence was very tied to the age and innocence at which I watched it. The obvious feminist critique was lost on me at the time! Glad to have kind of put the movie in better context in my own mental curation of great film without watching it again. Appreciated the perspective.
